It seems there are a lot of people interested in offering visitors to our Counrtry lots of spending money. Of cause these offers come at a price.
What I would sujest is that anyone wanting to earn some money be wise and dont let anyone rip off your hard saved spending money. Take your time and read the 3 links that I have posted here. They are Genuine, and will make your stay here more enjoyable, as it will give you a good look at what this Country has to offer,
Firstly lets check with immigration to see if you can do it.
http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/visiting_whm.htm
So far so good. Now here are some useful links that should be helpful, Most of these casual seasonal jobs requie no experience. But some do depending how desperate you are.
http://www.seasonalwork.com.au/index.bsp also try this one
http://www.waywardbus.com.au/seaswork.html

Some of the visitors I have met here have had a ball! some buy a cheap van and live in it, use it for transport, then resell it when leaving. Once here you can apply for an extension on your visa for up to a max 12 months.
Try to avoid all those get rich scams, they are only after your money.
I will be glat to provide any info that you may need if I can. AT NO COST!
I am only doing this to help you the members of this forum.

That is true Penn's but a lot of travelers come down here on a working visa, and earn money while on holiday. They can also see the country at the same time. I put this here because there were a lot of scams posting with false intensions. Wink

No should be no problem finding work here, If we can understand you then no probs. I know many migrants that struggle with English, but manage to fit in Quite well. Give it a go!

Stud,
thanx for the link, however, these visa are only applicable to people from certain country and my home country, Malaysia, is nowhere to be found.

Other than the above, I would like to seek ur advice or opinions on the below matter:
Me and my girlfriend would like to venture and experience some farm stay or in a winery/vineyard (preferably in perth) for a month or two but I'm only holding a normal visa as I enter Australia. How do I go about it?

Do I have to find or confirm an employment before I fly to Aussie or can I get a job after I reach Aussie.

How much is the living expenses in Perth averagely and do i need to get my own accomodation or the employer provides hostel or sorts of it.

Your replies are much appreciated.

Thanx

Hi Shackks, I will look into the visa thing for you a little later.
Farm stays are OK if thats what you want. I think I would be pretty bored living on a farm for any amount of time. Having said that I have done it a few times myself, once for 3 months!
Perth is kind'a a long way from me it's half way to Malaysia. I have only been there once. If looking for winery I would suggest South Australia or even The Hunter Valley here in NSW.
"When do you plan to come?"
With visa's its usually no prob, If your Girlfriend was coming alone they would want to know how she is going to support herself... But when she is with a man then they can see that there is no illegal activity going on.
I think a Visa will last 3 months. "how long did you want to stay?"
Jobs here are a plenty there is always someone looking to employ. But if you can snag a job before you come then that will be a bonus. "especially with the visa bullsh!t".
Living expences here in Aus are much diferent to what you are used to.
I will put up a detailed post soon "not today Wink " and try to give you some idea. But I would expect you to spend around 4,000 RM per month. "thats living on the edge...

yeap, many of us here from Msia has done it repeatedly. I wud like to go over there for holiday and also to experience such life where it's almost impossible in Msia. The wheather here punish ur skin whenever it have the opportunity.

Besides holiday, I would also like to seek if there's any permanent employment there for me. I'm in the IT line and wud like to seek more exposure and experience.

Will look for more info on the place u mentioned, I've check around and there's a vineyards somewhere in Pearl near Margaret River. Maybe I'll be heading there if there's no other interesting offer elsewhere like Sydney etc.

I'm thinking of flying there on March '07 and stays abt 2-3 months there before I head back to Msia...

The living expenses are kinda high to be honest and you're rite... We dun spend so much over here.

Thank you for your detail clarification on my question and I look forward on other material u wud post it up once u got the free time to do so.

Thanx again.

Cheers.

OK Shakk's lets see what we can find.
Are you both under 30? I believe they raised the age to 35 but am unsure at the moment.
Malaysia is part of the commonwealth therefore should be no problems. But I will check before you make any dissision.
We had a small fall out with Malaysia about 25 years ago, when a few of our drug smugglers were hung.
I think that may be the reason that Qantas dont fly there "could be wrong"

All fees and charges are in Australian dollars (AUD).

Important: The Visa Application Charge must accompany your application and is generally not refunded if the application is unsuccessful.

Working Holiday visa (subclass 417) & Work and Holiday visa (subclass 462)
Charge Type Charge Amount
Working Holiday visa (subclass 417)
Note: First and second working holiday visa
$185

Work and Holiday visa (subclass 462)
$175

Might be best for you to apply on line and see what happens.

hello Stud,
really grateful for all those efforts on my queries.

We're in our late 20s and certainly a few more years for us to reach 30. Laughing

Aniway, I've check on the http://www.australia.org.my/klpr/Visas%5fand%5fMigration.html]Australian High Commission in Malaysia on the Working Holiday Visa (WHV) but nothing is mentioned of it... And cross reference with the Australian Immigration site where u've got the result posted above, Malaysia is not in any agreements on Working Holiday with Australia. Now, I'm caught whether should I just apply a normal visa into Australia and convert it to a WHV or should I just go ahead and apply a WHV.

Worst come to worst, I'll just have a short holiday and come back. Very Happy

Aniwae, I'm very thankful for all the efforts... Hope I can repay u with a meal or something when I made it to Aussie... Very Happy

cheers.
